Case file originally opened due to suspicious activity online.

Suspect had been thought to have been interested and possibly taking part in activities and rituals initiated by the so-called religious group (cult) One of Many. Most of their activity in the group was through chatrooms and online forums, until later discovered emails and voicemails seemed to infer in-person meetups.

The case was later closed when it was discovered that police officials did not have a subpoena and did not give prior notice to their investigation of the suspect's online activities.

Suspect case has been reopened since their recent disappearance after a missing person's report was filed by an officer, ██ ████ (Case # ██). 

Suspect had been subjected to several interviews with various ranking police officials before their disappearance. However, it is debatable whether the officials had done their surveillance lawfully [Under Title II of the Patriot Act, Stored Communications Act and Electronic Communications Privacy Act].
